Celebrating Ukraine’s 30th Anniversary In the Philly Area

This Independence Day that marks 30 years of Independence. To commemorate this day, there are many events happening around the Philadelphia area where you can celebrate this holiday. If you don’t have any plans yet, consider the following:

Trenton Festival 

The UKRFCU is a proud supporter of the Ukrainian National Home in Trenton. UKRFCU members are invited to celebrate 30 years of Ukrainian Independence with live Ukrainian music, delicious Ukrainian foods, and entertainment! Learn more here

Charitable Concert with Oleksandr Bozhyk

Come and enjoy the beautiful music of Ukrainian Violinist Oleksandr Bozhyk in honor of Ukraine’s 30th Anniversary of Independence. 

When: Sunday, August 22nd at 3 p.m.

Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence 

The Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception will be holding a Devine Liturgy on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence.

When: Tuesday, August 24th at 9 a.m.

Ukrainian Flag Raising at City Hall 

Please wear your best vyshyvanka or your national dress, or wear blue and yellow (colors of Ukraine), bring your children with you, and celebrate Ukrainian Independence with us! Learn more here

Celebration at the Ukrainian League of Philadelphia

UKRFCU and the Ukrainian League of Philadelphia invite you to come and stop by and join us as we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Ukrainian Independence and enjoy delicious Ukrainian food and drinks. Additional parking will be available at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church on 24th street, limited spots are available. Learn more here

Commemorative Concert

Everyone is invited to the Ukrainian Educational and Cultural Center for the annual celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day sponsored by Hromadskyj Komitet (the Community Committee).

When: Tuesday, August 24th at 7 p.m.

Ukrainian Independence Day Festival 

St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church presents the Ukrainian Independence Day Festival. Join them for traditional Ukrainian food and drinks, Concerts, traditional Ukrainian dancing by Yunist Dance Ensemble and other local talents, Shopping, and a Zabava! Learn more here

30th Annual Ukrainian Folk Festival

UKRFCU is a proud supporter of the Ukrainian American Sport Center “Tryzub”as it presents the 30th Annual Ukrainian Folk Festival. Join them for traditional Ukrainian food and drinks, Vendors’ Mall & Arts and Crafts Market, Musical Concerts, and traditional Ukrainian dancing!  Dr. Oz will make a special guest appearance at this year’s festival. Tickets should be purchased in advance Limited Tickets will be available at the gate. Learn more here
