UNCUA Annual Meeting

The Ukrainian National Credit Union Association (UNCUA) held it’s Annual Meeting in Washington D.C. In attendance was His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk and His Grace Borys Gudziak along with Representatives of UNCUA credit unions including UKRFCU President, Mary Kolodij.

The Ukrainian-American Credit Union Movement in the United States exceeds 100,000 family memberships primarily concentrated in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois. Their asset base has surpassed 3.1 billion dollars. They are part of the United States Credit Union Movement, which encompasses over 75 million members and over 400 billion dollars in assets. The membership of the Ukrainian ethnic credit union movement in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Ukraine is approaching 200,000 family memberships. The combined assets exceed two billion USD. The International Credit Union movement has grown to encompass over 96 countries, over 177 million members, and over one trillion USD in assets. Their success stems from a coordinated effort by the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), USAID, Canadian Cooperative Association (CCA), Ukrainian National Credit Union Association (UNCUA), Credit Union Foundation, United States Department of Commerce, Canadian External Affairs and many other leagues, credit unions and individual credit union members in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
