2019 Annual Meeting Overview

The Philadelphia-based Ukrainian Selfreliance Federal Credit Union (UKRFCU) held its 66th Annual Meeting on Saturday, March 23 at the Ukrainian Educational & Cultural Center in Jenkintown, PA. In attendance were 81 members and 12 organizational representatives.

The meeting opened with remarks made by Congresswoman Madeline Dean (PA – 4). A significant portion of UKRFCU’s membership reside in the 4th Congressional District of PA. Reports were then presented by the Chairman, Roman Petyk; President, Mary Kolodij; Vice President of Finance, Halyna Keller; and Anatoli Murha, Director of Business Development, all of which highlighted strategic initiative updates including community engagement, membership growth, and financial performance. The Supervisory Committee Report was presented as written in the Annual Report by Larissa Kebuz, Member of the Supervisory Committee.

For the fourth year, students (grades 10 and 11) from the Ukrainian Heritage School (Ukrainian Saturday School) joined the meeting to learn more about how the credit union works operates in the financial sector and within the Ukrainian-American community in the greater Philadelphia area. Furthermore, the students participated in a focus group with the UKRFCU’s Marketing Department and engaged in discussion on personal finance needs and wants and got a firsthand look at UKRFCU’s new website.

Three board members were reelected to three-year terms: Roman Petyk, Mary Kolodij, and Anna Lewicky. Following the meeting, the Board of Directors held their organizational meeting. There were no changes to the make-up of the Board.

Our Annual Reports were distributed to those attending the meeting and they give further insight on our financial condition as well as provide information about community involvement, success, performance, and continued growth compared to the previous year.
