The purpose of this Q&A is to provide you, our members, with a complete understanding of why this unique merger is beneficial for you and your family, as well as the future growth and success of our new credit union.

What is happening?

The Board of Directors of Self Reliance Baltimore Federal Credit Union (SRBFCU) voted to pursue a merger with UKRFCU. On May 13, 2023, a vote of Baltimore Self Reliance members approved moving forward with the merger. The conversion of banking systems was completed on September 23, 2023.

UKRFCU’s technology and data processing platform will provide you with an access to the following UKRFCU services:

  • Online banking system with many new features
  • Mobile banking app with remote deposit
  • Upgraded Visa debit card with access to over 30,000 free ATMs nationwide
  • Zelle
  • Online loan payments
  • VISA credit card with many benefits and rewards and much more!
How does merging with UKRFCU benefit the members of SRBFCU?

SRBFCU has merged with UKRFCU to provide you with even more benefits and services as a credit union member. UKRFCU is a full-service financial institution that offers free checking with mobile check deposit, VISA debit and credit cards with access to over 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs, a variety of mortgage loan options along with investment property loans, vehicle and personal loans, Online Banking, and Mobile Banking app, and much more!

Will my savings accounts be affected?

Your savings and checking account rates were adjusted to the current rates at UKRFCU.

All existing SRBFCU member share certificates will remain at the same rate until maturity.

At the maturity date, you will have the option to renew your share certificate based on the rates offered at that time. All Share Certificate rates are published here.

Will my loan accounts be affected?

Your existing loan rate(s) and payment(s) will continue to fall under the Terms and Conditions of your current loan agreements. Any new loans will originate directly with UKRFCU. All loan rates are published here.

Can I still use my SRBFCU Debit card?

Your new UKRFCU VISA Debit Card replaced SRBFCU Debit card, which you should have received before September 23, 2023. If you have not received your UKRFCU Debit card, please call us at 215-725-4430.

Can I still use my SRBFCU checks?

UKRFCU has issued a complimentary, no-cost, checkbook which you should have received before September 23, 2023. SRBFCU checks can no longer be used. If you have not received your checkbook, please call us at 215-725-4430.

Will the SRBFCU VISA credit card interest rate change?

Your existing SRBFCU VISA credit card balance will stay at the rate that you currently have.

You are welcome to apply for a UKRFCU Visa Credit Card. All new purchases and cash advances on the new UKRFCU VISA
Credit card will be under the new terms and conditions that will be communicated to you in a separate mailing.

Will I need to re-enroll in Home / Online Banking?

We invite you to register and experience UKRFCU’s Online Banking, which is available 24 hours a day. With online banking you are able to access the following functions: Review account balances – Check account history – Transfer funds – Stop payments – Order checks – Apply for new accounts – Bill Pay – Zelle – Apply for loans – and much more.

Will my credit union voting rights change?

No. Each year you will still be given an opportunity to run for the Board of Directors and/or vote in the annual election. This is a benefit of your status as a member/owner of UKRFCU.

Who is eligible to join the Ukrainian Selfreliance Federal Credit Union?

There are many ways you can qualify for membership with UKRFCU. To be a UKRFCU member, you must fall into UKRFCU’s field of membership. Follow this link to our Membership Eligibility section to review a complete list of Churches, Educational institutions, and Organizations within our field of membership.

Will the office hours and branch location change?

New hours of operation have been implemented to ensure that we are available when you need us most. These changes have been carefully considered to accommodate various schedules and provide flexibility for all our valued customers.

Monday – Friday: 9:30am – 4:30pm

Saturday and Sunday: Closed

Our main office is located in Feasterville, Pennsylvania with other 5 full-service branch offices located in Baltimore, MD, Trenton, NJ, and Philadelphia region.

Will my new account(s) still be insured after merger?

Yes! Your deposit accounts will remain insured at the same level as before. The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) insures all deposits up to $250,000 per account.
