Tax Season Is Coming: What You Need to Know and How to Prepare

Tax season is right around the corner, and now is the perfect time to get organized. Whether you file on your own or work with a tax professional, having the right documents ready will make the process smoother and help you avoid delays.

Tax Forms Update

2025 tax forms (1098, 1099 INT, and 1042 S) are now available in Online Banking and Mobile Banking for members who are enrolled in electronic statements.

Find all tax forms in Online Banking or the Mobile App:

  • For legacy UKRFCU members follow these steps go to eStatements → Document Type → Tax Forms.
  • For legacy Self Reliance NY FCU members follow these steps go to Documents → Document Type → Tax Forms.

Members from legacy UKRFCU can still access their 2025 tax forms by enrolling in eStatements if they have not yet done so. Please note that this option is not available for members of legacy SRNYFCU.

Paper tax forms will be mailed this week if you are not using eStatements. Additionally, you will only receive a 1099-INT form if you earned more than $10 in interest combined under a given member account number.

Below is a simple guide to help you prepare for a stress‑free tax season.

Gather Your Income Forms

Start by collecting all income-related documents. These forms confirm what you earned throughout the year and are essential for accurate filing.

  1. W‑2 from your employer
  2. 1099 forms
  3. Any additional income statements

Collect Your Tax Documents

Beyond income, you’ll need supporting documents that reflect interest, loans, and contributions. These help ensure your return is complete and accurate.

  1. Interest statements
  2. Mortgage information
  3. Student loan interest
  4. Retirement contribution records

Keep Receipts for Deductible Expenses

If you plan to claim deductions, make sure you have documentation to support them. Organized receipts can make a big difference.
