The Philadelphia-based Ukrainian Selfreliance Federal Credit Union (UKRFCU) held its 67th Annual Meeting in a hybrid format (socially distanced in-person and virtual) on Thursday, August 20 at the Ukrainian Educational & Cultural Center in Jenkintown, PA and via GoTo Webinar. Previously scheduled for March 28, 2020, UKRFCU postponed the Annual Meeting out of abundance of caution amid COVID-19. In attendance were 83 members (17 in-person and 66 virtually).
The meeting opened with a virtual prayer by Metropolitan-Archbishop Borys Gudziak of the Ukrainian Archeparchy of Philadelphia. Following the prayer, virtual remarks were made by Congressman Brendan Boyle (PA-02), Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), and Congresswoman Dean (PA-04). A significant portion of UKRFCU’s membership reside in their respective congressional districts. Reports were then presented by the Chairman, Roman Petyk and President, Mary Kolodij, which highlighted strategic initiative updates including technological investments, community engagement, membership growth, and financial performance.
Following these reports, the Supervisory Committee report was presented by Antoni Zygarewicz. On behalf of the Nominating Committee, Anna Lewicky presented two candidates, Askold Sandursky and Ihor Jaryj, for the Board of Directors. Both were reelected to serve three-year terms. Following the annual meeting, the Board of Directors held their organizational meeting. There were no changes to the make-up of the Board. Annual Reports were distributed to those in attendance in-person and virtually.
